LifeLines is a volunteer-led project for people aged 50+ across Brighton & Hove City.

LifeLines runs activities and one-to-one support schemes to help people stay more active and better engaged with their communities. Volunteers are recruited, trained and supported to start up their own activity groups at a suitable venue and support activities from computer lessons and ballroom dancing through to bereavement counselling.

A lot of our our activities take place at Patching Lodge (on the corner of Eastern Road and Freshfield Road, opposite the Gala Bingo Hall – please click here for a map) and other venues in East Brighton. We also have activities in Woodingdean and Postslade and are currently starting new ones in these areas.

All our activities are inspired by our volunteers and we always welcome new ideas and activities that can be added to our regular programme.

We run these groups around Brighton & Hove and if you would like to know more or are interested in joining an activity – maybe even leading your own – then please get in touch.. Call 01273 688 or email

You can see a list of our activities in our latest Lifelines Activities Leaflet or ask to be added to our monthly mailing list to get updates as they are released.
