Monthly Tea Dance – every first Thursday of the month at Patching Lodge

Why not come along and join others on the dance floor or just enjoy the music with tea and cakes. First Thursday of every month 2.30 – 4.30 pm.

You can also come along at 2.00 and learn a few steps with Dave before the main dance.

Where: Patching Lodge in the dining area. Patching Lodge is on the corner of Eastern Road and Freshfield Road opposite the Gala Bingo Hall, BN2 0AQ.

Would you like to volunteer as a LifeLines Activity Partner?

LifeLines Activity Partners enable older people who are feeling isolated or frail to get out more and join in activities that they may not have the confidence to do on their own.

As an Activity Partner you would be matched with one person who you would meet once a week for up to 12 weeks.You would provide the initial company and support they may need to try out new activities or join a group.

Creative Writing for Beginners – new group starting September 2015

If you have always wanted to try creative writing, this new group will soon have you putting pen to paper. There will be games to help you get started, an encouraging space in which to share your own work and time to look at the work of some of your favourite writers.

Ukelele for Complete Beginners

Now’s your chance! Come and learn the basics of Ukelele playing with Lifelines volunteer Alistair Munroe, an experienced guitar and Uke player who would love to share his expertise. The course is free but members will need to provide their own ukelele and attend an information session on Tuesday 7th April 2pm – 3pm, to be held at Walter May House.

New classes of Gentle Exercise for 50+ starts!

If you are 50 or over and would like to get fit in your own time and at your own pace then this is the class for you! Starting on 15th April 2015, Shamsul Choudhury, a Lifelines volunteer and qualified Martial Arts teacher, will take you on a 12 week journey through a gentle exercise class that he has personally designed and developed, aimed at getting you active, increasing circulation, improving flexibility and aiding general fitness.
